Tech DD and Tech Stack for a Real Estate Service Provider

The technical assessment led directly into an architecture and stack decision.

Situation

A real estate service provider needed an independent technical picture of its existing systems, and, once that picture was clear, a decision on what the next generation of systems should be built on.

Task

As fractional CTO and advisor, we were to deliver the technical due diligence first, then, within the same mandate, a greenfield target architecture and a concrete tech stack decision.

Implementation

  • Tech DD report

Independent assessment of the existing systems and processes.

  • Greenfield target architecture

Architecture for the next generation of systems, not a patch on the old one.

  • Tech stack decision

Concrete, reasoned decision instead of open options.

  • Implementation roadmap

Sequence in which the new architecture gets built.

Approach

The DD delivered the factual basis: what works, what hits its limits, where the risk lies. As fractional CTO, we made the stack decision together with the existing leadership team, with named alternatives and the reason one option was chosen over another.

The target architecture was deliberately designed as a greenfield, with a clear path for retiring the existing systems, instead of a step-by-step patch of what already existed.

Result

The company has a documented technical assessment and, building on it, a made stack decision with architecture and roadmap, instead of continuing to weigh options.

Transferable lessons

  • Act on DD findings directly

A report without a follow-on decision loses its value.

  • Make a stack decision early

It prevents the architecture from drifting apart over time.

  • Name alternatives, not just the chosen option

That makes the decision traceable for everyone.
